1.Nuna PIPA Lite Car Seat – Very Lightweight
I chose the Nuna PIPA Lite as my overall best Nuna car seat because not only is it extremely durable, but it’s super lightweight. It’s the lightest in its class and has an expiration of 7-years from the date of manufacture.
I want to begin by saying how much I enjoyed this car seat. It’s lightweight enough to carry around my child in the seat. The base was easy to install as well with the True Lock technology. Once it was installed, it was solid and didn’t move around.
While I was out and about with my little one, I was able to use the canopy to shield their eyes from the sun.
There is also a convenient flip-out eyeshade for maximum UB protection. The car seat is certainly stylish and durable with a 2-year warranty that comes with it. The only downfall to this car seat, along with all Nuna seats, is that it’s expensive.
Optimal Sun Protection
The Nuna PIPA Lite also provides powerful sun protection in the way of its full coverage, removable UPF 50+ canopy that protects the sun’s harmful rays as well as a convenient flip-out eyeshade.
If you are seeking a gorgeous and svelte car seat that provides your child with all the safety, luxury and comfort your child deserves!
Pros
- Canopy with Sun Protection
- Super Lightweight
- Looks Beautiful
- Lots of Options for Comfort
- Easy Install
Cons
- A Bit Expensive
2.Nuna AACE Booster Car Seat – Latch Compatible
The Nuna AACE booster is fit for larger children who are ready for a highback booster. It was a great booster and weighed only 15-pounds.
There are 9 convertible headrest positions that I was able to adjust with just one hand as well as depth level settings. My child was feeling a bit confined, so I adjusted those settings and they seemed to feel much better,
The booster was simple to install with the LATCH connectors. I also had tohe option of using the belt path indicators.
The cup holders on the side of the booster made it easy for my child to store their sippy cup and snacks. My only issue with the seat is that it’s pretty bulky, so fitting multiple of them in the car may be an issue.
Easy to Adjust
It has 9 convertible headrest positions that can all be easily adjusted single-handedly, and it has depth level settings as well so that your child can grow in comfort without feeling too cooped up or confined. The AACE also has a ton of safety options like energy-absorbing foam, side impact protection pods for max security. Belt path indicators to make sure you are strapping your little one in properly and LATCH connectors that ensure your child’s car seat is securely attached.
Pros
- 9 Headrest Positions
- Awesome Side Cup Holders
- Grows with Child
- Fits Well
- Affordable
- Awesome Safety Features
Cons
- Pretty Bulky
3. Nuna PIPA Car Seat – Air-Travel Approved
I thought that the Nuna PIPA was a nice, lightweight car seat for any infant. I was able to use it with and without the base.
I tought that using it without the base was easier than with the base because of the installation. The LATCH system on the base seemed to be more difficult than the seat belt guides on the car seat.
I loved the canopy shield. It protected my child properly from the sun and ensured their eyes were protected from harmful UV rays.
The ergonomic carry handle made it easy for me to carry them around when I wasn’t able to use a stroller.
Tharness kept my child secure, but the magnetic clips weren’t very strong so they came unbuckled easily.
Extra Sun Protection
The canopy shield is removable and even zips outwards to extend and has hidden magnets to secure the fit. Which provides extra protection from the sun and other elements that make the lightweight style comfortable to tote.
In terms of safety features, the PIPA has side-impact protection, a five-point harness that is not rethreaded, and is airline-certified.
Pros
- Highest Safety Features
- Ergonomic Carry Handle
- Canopy Shield is Great
- Grows with Child
Cons
- Expensive
- Magnets Aren’t Very Strong
4.Nuna Pipa Lite LX – “Cadillac” of Infant Car Seats
The Nuna PIPA Lite LX is essentially the same as the Nuna PIPA Lite, but with more razzle dazzle.
It’s just as lightweight, but has comfortable Merino wool and TENCEL lyocell blended fiber. I loved how the fiber was made from materials that contain no harmful retardant chemicals.
Along with being sleek and comfy, it was also easy to install. It doesn’t come with a base, which is a huge downfall since that’s also pretty expensive, but installing without the base was much easier.
The handle on the car seat has easy to release buttons that ensure quick transfer from vehicle to vehicle.
Easy to Install and Super Light Weight
The Pipa Lite LX is incredibly light, quick and easy to install and of course, meets all safety standard regulations. This Pipa Lite LX is a gorgeous car seat that offers an ergonomic carrying handle as well as easy to release buttons on the base which ensure quick transfer between cars.

Buyer’s Guide
As we stated earlier, there are quite a few things that you should consider before making the ultimate decision for what is best for both your needs and the safety of your child.
In this buyer’s guide are some of the top things that you should take into serious consideration prior to investing in a car seat.
Basic Guidelines for Selecting a Car Seat
Let’s first start with the basic guidelines that you need to take into consideration when it comes to selecting the right car seat for your child’s needs, according to the 2019 American Academy of Pediatrics:
- Newborns through age 2 should be kept in a rear-facing seat
- Forward-facing harnesses should be used for as long as possible
- Children between the ages of 8-12 (or until they are 57” tall) should be kept in a booster seat until the vehicle’s seat belt straps them as it would any adult
- It is recommended that until children are 13 they ride in the backseat
- Replace car seats if they have been involved in a car accident or one that is damaged in any way
- Car seats can expire. If you are wanting to purchase one that is used, make sure it has never been involved in a car accident and it is not expired
- Be sure to review the Child Seat Recall list in order to ensure that the seat hasn’t been recalled
Safety Ratings
First and foremost are the safety ratings of the car seat itself. You are, of course, going to want to choose a car seat that is based upon your child’s size (height and weight). From there you can do some research to see which one has the highest safety rating overall.
Be sure to do some pretty significant research in terms of car seats that may have been recalled or have been noted to be faulty or are lacking in safety features of any kind. And remember to fill out your registration card when you finally buy your car seat so that you will receive any updates or information about product recalls.
Durability
Finding a car seat that is durable is also of the utmost importance. Let’s face it, your kids will really be spending quite a bit of time in their car seat and messes and mishaps are bound to occur.
Be sure to examine the durability of the plastic of the car seat itself to make sure that it won’t bend and flex too easily, but also isn’t too hard either. The cloth of the car seat should also be easy to take off and wash for convenience. There are a ton of great car seats out there that look really nice, but don’t serve much of a purpose in terms of their overall durability and dependability.
Length Manufacture in Business
Nuna was first launched back in 2007, and while they certainly aren’t the oldest car seat product line around, they have quickly risen to one of the best. With roots that stem in Amsterdam, Nuna prides itself on being an incredibly innovative company that produces products that are not only great looking and stylish but are also some of the safest in the world as well.
Budget
There is a wide price range when it comes to car seats, and the cheapest isn’t always the worst, while the most expensive isn’t always the best. You will certainly want to take your budget into consideration when it comes to investing in a new car seat for your child.
Be sure to do some research on the safety features and ratings on any of the car seats that fit into your budget. To ensure that you are getting what you pay for and are keeping your child as safe as possible.
Lifestyle
Another thing you will want to keep in mind is what your lifestyle is like. If you are constantly on the go, you may want to consider a car seat and stroller travel combo, that doesn’t need a base for travel. There are a lot of different options to keep in mind, just narrow down what your needs are and then go from there!
