Convertible car seats are essential for a growing child and bank account. With just one purchase, you can have a car seat for life. I had the pleasure of testing the Evenflo Everyfit 4-in-1 convertible car seat and can say that I wasn’t disappointed.
Right off the bat I noticed that this is definitely a lifetime car seat. It can accommodate children from 4 to 120-pounds and lasts about 10-years. It was a hassle to install since it’s so bulky, but once it was installed, it stayed put quite well.
I absolutely loved the one-hand adjustments. The headrest can be adjusted with one hand and the harness doesn’t need to be rethreaded through new slots when adjustments are needed. I could easily raise or lower it as needed without detaching anything.
I wish that the internal frame was made from steel as opposed to robust plastic, but it does still meet and/or exceed all safety standards. It does make for a lighter frame, but it still makes me a little uncomfortable.
I highly recommend this car seat because it’s for life. You pay one price and that’s it. It accommodates a wide range of height and weight. I wouldn’t let the plastic frame bother you since it still meets safety standards.

Each mode of this seat has its own weight and height limitations.

In rear-facing mode, your child must be between 4 and 40 pounds, and between 17 and 40 inches tall.

The car seat can be incredibly hot for a child to sit in for an extended period of time. No matter how cool the car is, my son’s back is almost always sweaty when he gets out of his car seat.

For many, this EveryFit is a reasonable price for JUST a rear-facing child seat alone. However, you are getting four different child safety seats with this budget-friendly selection! It’s rare to find baby gear that is safe, reliable, and affordable.
What We Don’t Like
Internal Frame Not Made of Steel
The Evenflo EveryFit is not made with a steel frame. The frame of this seat is made with a robust plastic that is sufficient to withstand numerous amounts of dynamic safety tests. The company insists, and proves, that the lack of a steel frame does not make this seat any less safe. In fact, it still meets and exceeds all safety standards.
In our minds, however, knowing that the frame is plastic instead of steel is still something that we don’t love about this seat. Although, the reasoning behind it, is that it allows the car seat to be lightweight and easier to move between vehicles. The seat is uniquely designed to manage the energy from a crash without the addition of a steel frame.
Crotch Buckle Padding Falls Off Frequently
One of the most frequent complaints from owners of this seat is about the padding around the crotch buckle. This padding is in place to keep your child comfortable while they are safely buckled into their seat.
However, many users note that this padding falls off quite frequently. One mother even commented that, while strapping her toddler into the rear-facing mode, she had to replace the buckle padding three times. This annoying feature can be solved by removing the padding altogether, however, it will be a less comfortable ride for your child.
Struggle to Install
While the SureSafe LATCH connecting system makes it simple to connect to your vehicle’s LATCH anchors, many families report installation struggles in other areas. Specifically, putting enough pressure on the seat so that it is securely in place is a common area of struggle.
The system is designed so that you must push down on the seat while pulling up on the webbing for the LATCH connectors. Some reviews comment that even their large husbands, pushing all their weight onto the seat, struggled to get the seat to be secure.

The Evenflo EveryFit and the Evenflo EveryStage DLX are both “all-in-one” convertible car seats that are very similar. In fact, they have the same general weight and height limitations.
However, the EveryStage seat has only three modes instead of four. The EveryStage does not convert into a backless booster seat.
Another major difference is that the EveryStage offers a higher weight limit for rear-facing mode, allowing your child to ride rear-facing for longer. Because of this added feature, this seat is more expensive than the EveryFit. We prefer the EveryFit for its extra mode for bigger kids, as well as for its cheaper price.
