Low Weight Limit

The Thule RideAlong, for example, has a max weight limit of 48 pounds. For older children, the Mac Ride front-mounted seat can accommodate up to 60 pounds!

A lower weight limit means less time to enjoy the product. According to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, the average child can hit 33 pounds in their second year. 

In most states, the law states children can’t ride in bike seats until 9 months old. If your child reaches 33 pounds before his third birthday, you haven’t got a lot of use out of the seat!

No Footrests Continuous Sliding Feature 

Most child bicycle seats feature continuous sliding footrests. Once the feet are strapped in, they can be moved up or down the entire length of the leg supports. This offers a customizable fit for your child.

The Orion’s footrests do not continuously slide. Instead, it has three different positions the footrests can lock into.
